Huge Spider in the City Limits

I have been working at Keith's house and this spider was in his raised garden. It is so huge that it has built a reinforced web. This spider is called the yellow and black Argiope. This is a female spider and the male spider makes the zig-zag web with in her web. I thought you would like to see it.

Keith and I are replacing the roof on this building, this morning I saw the moon, so I took a picture of it. If you look above the ladder you will see the moon. (looks like a white dot)

The roof has been a chore to tear off. Its 4 layers thick, with tar between each layer. I will have more picture to share with you tomorrow.

I am exhausted.

  5. I had one of these in my garden years ago. I left her be, as they are beneficial. That doesn't mean I LIKE spiders though.
    :D

  9. I had one of those spiders in my yard last year and took photos. It was so fascinatingly interesting and creeepy at the same time. It reminded me of an old boyfriend, so I killed it.
    :-)

The roof looks like a real BIG job. Take it EASY! No accidents!

  10. Those big garden spiders are creepy, but they are harmless to people, and actually very beneficial. And even though they're creepy...I think they're kind of cool, too!

  11. Hi Allen, love the spider picture. She's really beautiful. Glad to hear that Keith doesn't disturb her. She's worth her weight in gold for the insects she consumes.

  12. @ F8hasit, I hope we dont have any accidents. We are working slow and steady.

@ Beth, yeah they are cool as long as they are not in the house. If they end up in my house then they die from my shoe. =o)

@ Kyle, yeah my camera didnt pick up all the insects that she already had in her web.
