A Civil War Bayonet

While I was at A.C.'s house, I found a Civil War Bayonet. She told me that was her grandfathers.

I had never seen one up close like that, most that I have ever seen was in a museum. (look but don't touch). I had it in my hand thinking, wow. Look at the way it was made, it had 3 edges. I thought about that for a time thinking that was smart thing to do, so that if it hit a blunt object it wouldn't break. The sheath was made out of leather with metal cap and brackets on it. The bottom end of it, was made to fit some type of rifle.
