Trying to find a job.

I have been looking for a job for almost two weeks now. I woke up bright and early yesterday morning and took off to find a job.

I started in Wilton Manors. I would prefer to find one in that area first. But that looks slim to none. On my way back from that area, I stopped in several places looking for a job. I went to Coral Springs, Florida. It has a huge Simon Mall. This mall has 165 stores, I started on one end and worked my way around until I was exhausted of walking. I entered about 1/2 of the stores. I applied at only 3 stores that said they are hiring. But what I noticed is that out of those three stores, there were at least 10 others that were applying for the same job, while I was there.

Some of the larger stores told me to apply online, and when I got home this is what I did. You would think with all my experience, it would be a pretty simple to find a job, I would not even care if it was a part time job. I just want something to do to make money.

Today is a new day. I will be back on the streets looking. I will find something. I know it just takes time. I think I am going to try near the beach and put application in at all the hotels.

Have a great day every one,
Allen

Stay strong and positive. These days, finding a job can be tough, but I am sure since you put your mind to it, you can do it. Just don't let the process get you down!

Keep plugging away, Allen, I'm sure you'll find something. Unfortunately, with today's economy, it might take longer than usual.

It is extra hard finding something right now with this bad economy. Good luck in your endeavor. Persistence pays off and eventually something will pop up. I hope it happens soon for you.

All good comments/good advice before mine, but I will add that sometimes it's being at the right place at the right time. Always remember that so that you don't give up. I would also seek out small Mom & Pop businesses. Hey, with Christmas season coming up keep in mind that almost all retailers will hire some temporary help. I would think that now is the prime time for that. A lot of times that leads to permanent instead of temporary work. Good luck!

Keep at it, Allen. I'm sure something will turn up, although it is definitely a tough time right now.

@ Sue, Thank you!

@ Sunny, I knew it would take me a bit, but there are really no jobs here. Its scary to be honest.

@ Michael, Thanks I will!

@ Howard, I am trying really hard not to let it get me down.

@ Pat, Longer it has. The last time I looked for a job, I found one in three days. Its been two weeks now.

@ Rae, Thank you, I am plugging away at it.

@ John, I agree with you on the xmas coming up. I have been applying at all the major retailers. Most of them are online, so I have been doing them at home at night after I get back from a day of hitting the streets.

@ Beth, I agree with you. It is tough right now. More tough than I thought.

Thanks everyone for all the great comments. I do appreciate them. I am keeping my chin up and moving on.

Allen, just keep at it and don't let any disappointments get to you. It is definitely a bad job market in FL right now, but I'm sure the right thing for you will turn up. Be persistent and stay focused on the goal!
