Exciting Changes

I am no longer working for Staples. I put my 3 day notice in. I feel a little bad for only giving them 3 days notice, since the GM has been so good to me.

Why did I start looking for something else? Well that is simple, as most of you know, I was born handicapped. I have had several re-construction surgeries on my legs and feet. Standing on my feet WAS KILLING ME.

Last Sunday and Monday just about did me in. Especially on Monday, I worked 7 hours with out a break. I just cannot do that anymore.

The Interview:

I had an interview with Tina yesterday and she said "I was looking for a girl" for this position. I told her that I can do the job she wants and then some. She agreed to give me a try. I told her she wont be disappointed. She said "I want someone that is Honest". I agreed with her and then said, I am gay. She said I have no problem with that.

I am now a Personal Assistant for Tina and she owns several companies. She told me that she would start me off with $xx.xx per hour. I about fell over, I have not ever made that much per hour in my life. Its over double of what I was making at Staples.

She gave me several projects to start with, I have completed 2 of them on my list. I have another meeting with her on Monday.

What will I be doing you ask? What ever she wants! I think I would lick her floor if she asked. LOL

It sounds like a great opportunity. I hope it works out to be everything you anticipated. Yes, I agree a longer notice would have been good if you could have arranged it. Hopefully you told them at Staples how much you appreciated them. My guess is you did because you would praise them in some of your posts.
Enjoy your new job and do your best - - something I am sure you do at any job.

Hey, a big congrats on the new job! Sounds like it will give you some new challenges AND keep you off your feet - at least more than Staples.

If you were honest with Staples and told them about the health issues and how this job came up, no problems. I would think they'd understand.

@ Miss Lynda, I am already enjoying my new job. Its right up my alley.

@ Michael, Thanks

@ Pat, I sent the GM an email the other night, and explained it all to her. I dont know if she read it yet or not. I really do appreciate her and all that she did for me. She is the best GM I have ever worked for!!

Allen that is awesome! Sounds like the perfect thing for you. PAs do make good money; I should know I was one once. I liked having many different things to do and being able to use many different skill sets at the same time. I'm very happy for you! :)
