Staples

Yep I am back at Staples. Its good to be back home.

How you ask? Well I went over to Staples to visit my friends there, we the GM and myself had a talk, she hugged me and said if you want to come back, I will hire you right now. I said really? She said yes. I accepted.

I am back in the copy center. Nothing has changed much except I had to learn how to use the new copiers that they got while I was gone. Wow they are great, I mean you can make books, it does everything for you, copies, folds and staples. Its great, it saves so much time.

The customers are great too. I cannot tell you how many have said they are glad to see me back. I did miss several of them.

Did you know that the Staples Copy center right now is giving 50% back on your rewards when you use the Copy center. (0rders over $25). I mean who would not use this special? If you spend $200 they give you a hundred back on your rewards. Hello people that is better than any other special I have ever seen.

Did you also know that right now you get 50% off of Tech repairs? Wow that is a savings too.

I was on my way home from work one day a couple of weeks ago. I went through this intersection and as soon as I drove through it, I looked up to see....

My heart sank. I could not figure out what I did wrong. Since my car has no Air condition I already had my windows down. The officer sat behind me for a bit, I assume that he was looking up my plate information. I unbuckle my seat belt and pull out my wallet.

The officers walks up to my car one on each side. The officer said "do you know why I pulled you over?" I said no Sir. He asked did you know its a law to wear your seat belt in Florida?" I said yes Sir. He asked " why dont you have yours on?" I said I just unbuckled it to pull out my wallet, (my wallet is kept in my front pocket) He said "when you went through that intersection, I did not see you wearing it." I said yes Sir I had it on, I just took it off to pull out my wallet. He said well put it on for me and let me see." I placed it on, he said "Now sit like you did going through the intersection." I put my arm out the window and sure enough he could not see my seat belt. I like to lay my arm on my entire window sill. He did not say anything except, "I need to see your license, insurance and registration."

I handed every thing to him. He walked back to his car, he was looking towards his computer in his car. He walked back to my car and said when is the last time you got a ticket? I told him it was 10 years ago in Orlando. He handed me my information and said, "be sure to keep your seat belt on at all times." I told him I did and will. He told me to have a good day.

Its funny now that I look back at it. I don't hang my arm out the window like that anymore. I dont like getting pulled over. I figured why give them an excuse to pull me over, even though I have not done anything wrong. I am one of the few that drives the speed limit down here. The tickets are extremely high down here. A co-worker told me the other day that she got pulled over and they gave her a $450 ticket. I about fell over.

I'm glad you didn't get a ticket. I've always feared a dishonest cop claiming I didn't wear a seatbelt when I do all the time.

Maybe he pulled you over because you were NOT speeding. Maybe he thought something was wrong with you for driving the speed limit, like maybe you were drunk. Was he leaning in towards you when you spoke, to smell your breath?

I got picked up in Kentucky a few months ago for 13 over the limit. Only $80 ticket. I felt lucky it wasn't more.

I got pulled over a couple of months at about 3 in the morning.

Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Me: No, sir.
O: Driving 60 in a 45 mph zone.
M: Really? I wasn't paying attention. I just dropped my husband off at the terminal and was in a hurry to get home. I'm really tired.
O: Who does he drive for?
M: Mr. 'P' Express.
O: OK. I'm going to give you a warning. Slow down, and drive safely.

He could have got me good.

I, too, am happy you got an honest officer. Yes, those lights just about make a person's heart stop.
I really like our Staples' copy center - - - don't really have much need to use it though. They have spiral-bound workbooks for me. It makes the books so much easier to use when it will lay open flat. My only problem with Staples is I generally spend more money than I intended to because I LOVE office supplies. Obviously there are others out there like me or the store wouldn't be so successful.

Glad you are back at Staples. You did seem happy there, except every once in awhile when there was a bad customer, but hey, that's what happens when working with the public.

If you are stopped by the police, ALWAYS leave your seat belt on till they approach you for THIS REASON. Now you know!
