A Hospital Bed is the most loneliest place on earth.

6-30-12
At 3 am I am woken to the lights being turned on and them saying “we are going to put you into this bed” I thought oh great a roommate.  Not sure that I wanted that. Lol
At 3:30 and at 4 am his alarm kept going off and the nurse had to come in and reset it.  Which drove me nuts.  From that point on, my mind would not shut down. I would roll to one side and then to the other, then back to the other.  Finally I was woken up at 6 am by leeteefa. She said good morning I am going to draw blood. I laid out my arm. She said ok this arm. I nodded.  She put the strap on and stuck me, then drew 2 vials of blood. She said now that wasn’t too bad was it. I smiled and said no.  She left the room and I started to doze again. She came back and said I have to stick you again, because I forgot to draw one of them. I laid my arm back out and she stuck me right back in the same hole.

At 8am breakfast was served. But it was not exactly what I had in mind.  The coffee was pretty nasty with only one sugar, which I normally use sweet-n-low.  I had two pancakes, with only one butter and no syrup.  One bite and yuck. I just couldn’t do it. The next item was oatmeal.  Nasty again. No sugar in it, nor butter.  I like to doctor up my food a little bit.

The nurse came in, he said hi my name is Walter. Walter and I hit it off. We laughed a bit.  After breakfast, was time for my shot in my tummy again. The nurse Walter, said ready for your shot? I raised up my gown, and said yes. I turned my head and within a few seconds he was done.  In and out quick.

About 10 am my doctor came in, he said hi boo. I smiled as I looked up to him.  My doctor is one of the coolest guys I know.  He will actually sit down next to you and talk, and even joke with you a bit.  He answered a lot of my questions that I had. I had a few more, but hey I cannot remember everything. This is just a information overload.  My doctor looked outside and said do you see that? I turned and looked and said what?  He said this weekend is supposed to be beautiful unlike last weekend.  I said hey you are teasing me. He smiled really big and said yes I am.

11:30 am I called this number that is on the wall. Its for the food service. I said ok, can I please get coffee with every meal?  Please send sweet-n-low and more butter. She took my lunch menu. It was pretty good, bbq chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy and corn.  Oh and bread woot.

1pm  Jason from work, stopped by to visit me. I was so happy, he is my friend.  We talked about work and nothing but work. But it was good I needed the work check. =o) Jason stayed for about an hour and half. It was a nice long visit.  When Jason left we had a nice hug. He said I am praying for you boo.

It wasn’t 15 minutes later that Kevin walked in. He had playing cards, my camera and things like that.  He told me that when he went home, he was tired, but when he got there, he said he could not go to sleep.  He said I guess I was thinking about you.  He said he finally fell out at 5am. Kevin and I sat here and talked about Minecraft. It’s a game that we play together.

This must have been the hot day for visits, cause in walks Michael and (S) Michaels Partner.  Michael brought me a laptop cooler to cool this laptop down.  They did not stay very long. But its all good, they came up and that was the main thing.  As they were getting ready to leave, in walks Chris.  Chris stayed for a while too. It was nice that some of my friends took the time out of their busy day to come see me.

I am sooooooo sorry you are in the hospital but am glad they are taking care of your blood clots. Those can kill you if you aren't careful. Also, I am happy to hear your spirits sounding better. You were not a happy camper in the last post at all. You about burned my eyes out with some of your words. I will be praying for you Allen. I am very thankful that many of your friends have given you the gift of their time. That really does help towards healing.
