Yard Sale Today

Well today was the first day of our Yard sale. It did not go as well as I had planned. We opened the doors at 9am. At 10:30 am we had our first person to stop. I cannot remember when we had such a slow day. The last sell we had here, every thing went so quick. This time, we sold a little here and a little there.

The "customers" were just weird. I mean there was this one woman that was dressed as a slut, so much that you could see her camel toe. Ewww is all I can say. She walked into our garage and said " my bed room is larger than this garage". She didn't buy anything.

This one guy stopped by and wanted to buy a set of hooks. You know the type, to hold up bicycles. He said "how much?" I said $2.00 (he did the walk) like he was going to return it, he said would you take a one for it, I quickly said yes. I really just wanted .50 cents for it. I have learned over the years, start high and stop at your real price.

We had a van stop, two guys got out of the van. One an older man in his early 60's I would say and a younger man with him. The younger guy was hot. I mean picture it, 6' bald head, goatee, muscles in a tight shirt, and tats all over his body. He looked like a bad ass.

By about 4pm the school bus pulls up outside our door, and drops off the neighbors kids. The girl runs into the house, but the boy, I would say he was 10 or 11 years old, stood in his back yard, pulled down his pants and peed. This was during a busy time. Even one the "customers" said something about it.

I will be working the Yard Sale again tomorrow. I will let you know what is going on.

Awww, that's a shame. And the weather was really good yesterday too. I wish you better luck for today.

I feel your pain. We had a garage sale in July, and although we did pretty well in sales, it's not a fun couple of days. I hope today goes better!

Well, hope all went well today, and I have to commend you for doing the sale. I would not have the patience - I just don't like people enough... LOL

I see bookcases back in the corner. People always need bookcases - - don't they? They are very popular at our house.

Tomorrow should be a better day. Saturdays are such great days for yard sales in our area that there are almost traffic jams on some streets.

I HATE having garage sales! We never do good! When we decided to get rid of the majority of our stuff to hit the road in our trailer, we had a large garage sale. It doesn't matter that we had a sign that said, "NO EARLY BIRDS!!" They were there as soon as we opened the garage door. You'd think that would have been a good sign. But no. By the end of the day, we were almost PAYING people to take our stuff. It was sad. We lived on the main street in our subdivision, so the stuff that didn't sell got dragged to the street and within a day was whisked off our lawn by garbage pickers.

On the other hand, I like GOING to garage sales! :)
