I know its been a long time since I posted anything. I know that my life has, well been hard. My uncle died right before Christmas, and then my great uncle died right before New Years day.
I haven't been posting as much as I should have. My really great friend Jason L., asked "why haven't you posted anything?" I really didn't have a good answer for him. I guess I have been lazy.
I am really not sure when my next post will happen, with the move, new home, and new Staples location. Think I will take my laptop to work and do posts there, they have free internet.
I found a really great place to live. Its 5 hours from where I live now. I truly want to be closer to my father. Its only 45 minutes from where he lives. That makes me happy. The area seems nice too.
Trying to transfer
I called the Staples store that I wanted to transfer to and asked if they had any open positions. I was told "I think so" they told me that the GM would call me back. I waited for over two weeks and started to freak out.
I switch shifts with one of my associates, it was on Friday the 11th, it was a slow night, the phone rang, when I answered it the voice on the other end said this is the GM from Staples. I want to offer you a position. It wasn't the position that I really wanted, I wanted the mangers position in the copy and print. The only position open is a part time associate position. I accepted anyways. I needed a job for the area I was moving too. I am hoping that I can get more hours since I am experienced in more positions with in the company. As soon as our conversation was over, I went to the GM of my store. I told him that I was offered a position at the other store and I accepted it. I asked him what the next step was? He said can you wait unit Monday and I will have your answer.
It was a long weekend waiting for the answer. Monday came the GM said I sent the District manger an email and waiting for him to respond. Later that afternoon the GM comes to me and said the District manger approved your transfer. Do you know when they need you? I laughed and said yesterday. He laughed too. He said how about in two weeks? I said sure. I called the GM of my new store. I told her that I have to stay here for two more weeks. She said that is fine. I told her that I would be up on the 25th to meet her, she said that would be fine. I also told her that I have to move too. She said I understand.
One week gone
Last week flew by. I mean it seems like I just got the news. I am freaking out, and stressed out. Yesterday I started packing. I made room in the living room for all my stuff, I have boxes every where. It seems like I have more stuff. I cannot figure it out. I thought I got rid of a ton of stuff from the last move. It seems like I have not stopped, and yet I still have a bunch of stuff in my room that still has to be packed up.
I did figure out a cool trick, I wanted to pack up my drinking glasses, I don't have paper to pack them. So what I did was used my clean tube socks, Oh My does that work good. I mean they are completely cover and the extra you stuff inside. If it does break, then I just have to pick up the sock and throw it away. =o)
The First Time
This is going to be the first time in my life that I will be living by myself. Well that is only partly true. I did live in a house by myself, but it was only one block from my Parents house. And I had all my friends still in the neighbor hood. That was over 20 years ago. I am looking forward to it I think. Time will tell.

Big news. Sorry about the deaths in your family, but I'm looking forward to reading about your move and your new town.
Wow! Lots of changes going on! I forgot where your Dad lives....still in FL? This is a bold move to change jobs and move. I'm sure your Dad is happy to have you closer to him.
Am I wrong, or weren't you in a relationship with one of your roommates? Obviously that is over since you mentioned that you were going to be living alone.
Good luck in this new endeavor!
Also, I am sorry about your recent losses. Always hard to lose a family member, no matter what their age.
So you must be in the middle of packing, etc. I pray you like your new store as much as you have seemed to like this one. I think it's great you will be near your dad - - - good for both of you. Try to enjoy the most of each minute of every day with him. Time goes by way too fast. Living by yourself will give you time to recharge your batteries at the end of each day - - - as long as you don't get lonesome.
Cubby - yes lots more to come!
Pat - My father lives in Lakeland Florida, its about an hour away from him. Not to far. I was in a relationship, that ended its all good though, we both are ok with it and are still going to be friends.
Lynda - that is my plan, to spend as much time with him as I can!
